Shareholders Robert E. Cooper and James “Jay” Alan Potts, II were recently selected to the Mid-South Super Lawyers® list for 2020. Additionally, Shareholders Justin I. Hale and Hugh B. Harris were selected as 2020 Mid-South Rising Stars.

The attorneys were selected for their accomplishments in the following practice areas: Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Civil Litigation and General Litigation.

According to Super Lawyers®, attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars using a process of peer nominations, peer evaluations and third-party research.  Each candidate is evaluated using a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by Law & Politics’ attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.  Only five percent of all lawyers in Alabama are named to Super Lawyers®.  Eligibility for Rising Stars is subject to those 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.  No more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state are named to Rising Stars.
